hey there
my back is sore its feeling all knotted up and we don't have a heat pack/water bottle and no one wants to give me a massage :( can anyone suggest anything!?

Yes you can use heat to get a temporary relief of the pain!. For a better long lasting relief without having the negative effects of swelling use ice!. The use of ice will relax the muscles and decrease the pain!. There are more positives to using ice than there are to heat!. Use the ice for fifteen to twenty minutes per hour!. Stretching should help the knots!. Try these movements: lie on your back on the floor!. Slowly bring one knee up to the chest and bear hug it into the chest!. Hold for ten seconds and release the hold slightly!. Repeat the process four more times and return the leg to the floor!. Do the same on the opposite leg but at the end of the movements do not return the leg to the floor!. Instead bring the opposite leg up to meet it and bear hug both legs into the chest!. Hold for ten seconds and relax the hold!. Repeat four more times!. Slowly bring one leg down to the floor putting the foot flat on the ground and the knee bent to 90 degrees!. Bring the opposite leg to the same position and slowly rock the knees to the floor on one side of the body and then the other!. Do as many of these as you feel comfortable with!. Do this at least twice a day!. Also if you have a high backed wooden rocker sit in that as much as possible!.Www@Answer-Health@Com
Take a towel and fold it so that it fits into a large zip lock or sturdy plastic bag!. Add the hottest water from your tap, just enough to wet the towel but not saturate it!. Zip or tie the bag securely!. Lie down on it!. The heat should keep about 30 minutes or so and bring you some relief!. Also, take two aspirin or Tylenol!. Hope you feel better!.Www@Answer-Health@Com
take a damp towel and put in in your microwave for about a min!. then place it were it hurts!. Don't make it to hot!. I,ve had back pain for 15 years and it works for me!. I try to stay away from to many medications the doctors keep giving me!.Www@Answer-Health@Com
dampen a towel and stick it in the microwave for about 5 minutes and then lay down on it!.!.!.you should alternate between hot and cold about every 20-30 minutes, so wet another one and put it in the freezer!. Take some ibuprofen too!.Www@Answer-Health@Com
