I can't sleep...again! help please?!


Question: I can't sleep!.!.!.again! help please!?
For the second night in a row, I feel restless and I just can't sleep!. What do you do to help you fall asleep!?
I tried reading, and taking a hot bath!.!.!.
I have to be up in 7 hours!.!.!.!.ugh this sucksWww@Answer-Health@Com

Sorry to hear you are having difficulty sleeping!. Assuming you have not had coffee or other stimulants (even sugar can make you jittery), there are some remedies:

tryptophan - found in milk and turkey (no kidding)
a small carb snack, if you are hungry

melatonin (as long as you don't have kidney or renal dysfunction)

If your mind is busy working on something, try writing it down and getting it "off your mind", to deal with later!. Spend ten minutes with the lights off, deep breathing into the belly, chest, and up into the clavicles, and back down, just attending to the breath to help you relax, and if your mind wanders off to thoughts that make you anxious and awake, bring your attention back to the breath!.

Turn off the tv, and instead listen to soft music without words!. Natural sound, such as the ocean, a brook, or rain on a CD if you have it, is helpful!.

I was having this problem (and still do occassionally)!. My therapist suggested focusing on breathing deep expanding your your lung capacity by pushing out your stomach and then exhaling slowly!. Work on breathing deeply and slowly!. Your focus on this exercise works to calm your mind and body!. Seems to work for me!. (Hypnosis tapes work in the same way I believe - they work for my sister)Www@Answer-Health@Com

To follow up on the milk, it's better to warm it up for a couple of minutes!. It really helps out!.

Also releasing some sexual tension through means of sex or masturbation helps out!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

Don't think about falling asleep!

reading always works for me!.!.!. just take your mind off trying to sleep and do something that doesn't require very much energy or thought!. milk is also known to help!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

I got my friend to go to sleep about a week ago!. I told her to write down all her problems!. I said if she didn't sleep those problems are going to get worse!. Try yawning!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

if you drink coffee then dont drink it before you go to bed or any caffenated drinks
