What to do for a toenail that has been ripped off..sorta?!

Question: What to do for a toenail that has been ripped off!.!.sorta!?
Okay, so my boyfriend and i were moving a large desk and it accidentally hit my toenail on my big toe!. Now when it first happened it hurt, now it is just uncomfortable because when anything hit's it, it feels like pressure pain through out my toe!. The toenail is still partially there, not attached on most sides, and is white!. I know im going to lose the toenail, and that's not really a biggie for me!. My question is, what should i do to keep it clean!? Is peroxide good for it!? Will a bath affect it!?
How about the pool!?Www@Answer-Health@Com

The nail will fall off in its own time so the best you can do is to keep it clean as you said, the peroxide will help to keep it clean and bathing should not be a problem just dry it well as feet attract yuck germs and a nice warm moist area is what they love!. When you wear your socks you may want to put some tape or a band aid over the nail just to stop it from getting caught on the sock but you really answered your own question, peroxide is a good idea and even if you want to dab it dry with a cotton tip but you will be ok, might i add ouch i could feel that when i read your question!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

Pool is good because there is chlorine which is a good disinfectant!. However I wouldn't chance going swimming yet as your foot is exposed and could stub it or hit another object!.
Surely a few days away from the pool/beach is not going to matter!. Better to take care now and be patient while it heals rather than be sorry and in pain later!.

You could also use white vinegar for keeping it clean!. Natural disinfectant!.

I would wear steel-toed shoes so I don't bump against objects thus complicating it!.!.

Can you walk okay!?

Maybe wait for 3 days max!. and see how it feels!. If not better, then go see a Doctor!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

keep it covered and use an antiboitic ointment!. as soon as your done bathing or swimming put a fresh bandaid on it!. Peroxide will help with infection!. try to keep any lifted portion of the nail clipped untill the new nail has grown out and or the injured nail falls off!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

IF IT IS STILL ATTACHED AT ROOT AND UNCOMFORTABLE CUT OFF UNATTACHED TOE NAIL APPLY SOME NEOSPORIN AND COVER WITH BANDAGE!. DO THIS DAILY!. AS NEEDED!. IT WILL BE FINE GO SWIMING SHOWER DO WHAT EVER!.Www@Answer-Health@Com
