Original Philadelphia Collar or Atlas Collar?!
Question: Original Philadelphia Collar or Atlas Collar!?
I was recently diagnosed with severe whiplash by my friend (a doctor), and he said that I needed to go buy a Philadelphia Collar because it was available to consumers and would work well!. So, I found two Philadelphia Collars, and was wondering, is the Original w/Stabilizer better than the Atlas one!? The original one doesn't look comfortable and the Stabilizer looks awkward!. But which one is better!?Www@Answer-Health@Com

Ask your friend! If I were you, I'd go with the Atlas one, since the one with the stabilizer is more for people who have had cervical surgeries!. The Atlas one is mainly to help restrict a little movement and help with support!. On the other hand, I personally would go to an actual clinic (urgent care center or physician's office capable of x-ray) and get an x-ray!. No one has x-ray vision, and I've seen WAY too many times where even an ER doc brushes someone off as having whiplash, only to find out they actually have a fracture after having xrays! I'm not trying to scare you or anything, but your neck isn't something to mess with!Www@Answer-Health@Com
