Gotta love medical terminology! It scares the crap out of people, but it is very precise jargon!.

"cortical step off" !.!.!. a sudden change of direction, a step, a break!.

"in the distal metadiaphyseal region" !.!.!. in the end of the growth region farthest from the body!.

"of the distal radius" !.!.!. of the raduis (arm bone) farthest from the body!.

translation: he broke one bone in his arm (the radius), closer to the wrist than the elbow!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

It means that your son broke his arm at the area of the "growth plate" in lamens terms!. Common fracture, Usually heals just fine!.Www@Answer-Health@Com
