What is the best way to treat shin splints?!


Question: What is the best way to treat shin splints!?
Towards the end of my run the other day my left shin started to hurt!. That night I could barely walk!. I pulled my calf before, and it felt kind of like that!.!.!. Is it shin splints!? How long does it last!?Www@Answer-Health@Com

baahhhh that sucks doesn't it!? I began a running program and didn't get shin splints until I hit the 2 mile mark!. Get GOOD SHOES if you don't already have them!. If you've got normal/high arches try superfeet insoles!. I use the berry ones, they're awesome and my shin splints haven't come back since taking time off and using them!.

Honestly the thing that helped (and SUCKED) the most was taking two weeks off so I didn't keep hurting myself over and over again!. I was getting daily intense shin splints in my left leg for about three weeks even after cutting down the length of my runs!. But yesterday I ran four miles no problem!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

Before trying anything that is going to cost money try this!. Use ice on the area for fifteen to twenty minutes per hour!. Make sure that you ice the area down after running!. Sit on your heels and slowly raise one knee up as high as it will go!. Hold that for ten seconds and relax!. Repeat that four more times and then do the opposite leg!. To build up the muscles that are being pulled do this!. Get a 2x4 board about two feet long!. Stand on the board with the heel only!. Raise the front of one foot as high as possible ten times!. Repeat on the other side!. When you get used to this add a one pound weight to the front of the foot and lift up!. Do this ten times and repeat on the opposite side!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

you have to go to a foot doctor and have foot surgery i am pretty sure that is the only way to get rid of themWww@Answer-Health@Com
