Has anyone ever experienced headaches or migraines from staring at their compute!

Question: Has anyone ever experienced headaches or migraines from staring at their computer for too long!?
My job involves me in front of a computer for 8 hrs a day and as much as I hate to say this, I think that is the cause of my migraines!. I dont generally have them at home but I have them everyday that I am at work and usually within the first couple of hours that I am here!. I need my job dearly so I cant just do something else!. The headache/migraine thing is getting to be pretty unbearable at times though!. Any suggestions, I currently take an OTC medicine for it but!.!.!.!.!?Www@Answer-Health@Com

Answers:
Your problem is actually very common!. :(

I use Advil or Excedrin Migraine while I'm at work as I have the same issues!. Do you wear glasses/contacts!? Talk to your optometrist about your concerns!. They may have some suggestions or may be able to offer some tangible relief (I only have my glasses for distance sight, technically, but the doc also recommended using them when I sit at the computer at work)!.

Short of that:
Make sure your computer screen is at an even height with your vision, even tilted down a little bit!. Make sure your posture is good and your back is straight as you sit, as even poor posture can put strain on your back and neck which will not help a migraine!

Every 15 minutes or so, look away from the computer screen and focus on other things, close your eyes for a moment to refresh yourself!. Make sure you get up from your computer and walk around every once in a while, too!.

This may be a bit dated as most screens don't have an issue, but if you have an old monitor - change the settings so that you have the highest possible screen refresh rate!. Slower refresh rates can actually put a lot of strain on your eyes!.

It helps me sometimes to lower the brightness of my monitor so it doesn't glare as much, which puts strain on the eyes!. You can also request an anti-glare screen from your company to put over your monitor which may also help reduce the strain to your eyes!. For some people, that can make all the difference!.

I wish you the best - I know how tiresome it is!Www@Answer-Health@Com

Eyes can get very strained from staring at a computer screen all day!. Try looking away from your screen at an object further away on a regular basis!. If the headaches continue, I would see an eye doctor!.Www@Answer-Health@Com
