Answers:
Your friends are in an awkward position and they just don't know what to say, that's what everybody will tell you!. That's not true!. If they are truly your friends, they should be coming to you with love, understanding and comfort, and most importantly support!. Sure people will stare and you know what, I'll bet they are saying to themselves, oh how sorry I feel for that beautiful young girl!. Accept your fate, which I feel you have and know that you are alive, and can be an encouragement to others in the same situation!. Make friends with others that have lost a body part, whether it be a leg or arm, or hand or foot!. I'm sure there is an organization that will help you find these others!. Your friends avoid you, well guess what, it's their loss, not yours!. There are to many people out there that you can make new friends with and I encourage you to do so!. I wish for you the very best that this life has to offer young lady!. Be strong, be a survivor, and be sure to thank the good Lord above for protecting your life and to make you an encouragement to others!. Things could have been a lot worse!. Good luckWww@Answer-Health@Com

Your friends may not know how to react to the situation!. Open up the lines of communication by telling them how you feel about losing your leg without them having to ask, because they may feel like you don't want to talk about it and don't know how to act around you without NOT talking about it!. Your true friends won't care about the fact that you lost a leg - you're still you!. As for people staring at you, just stare back or say a smart comment like "Take a picture - it'll last longer!"Www@Answer-Health@Com

I know you don't want to hear this, but this is expected!. Anytime someone looks different in any way, the will be stared at, and looked at odd!. Your friends probably don't talk to you because it is different for you to look like that!. Just make a day to spend with them, talk to each other, and make them realize you are the same person you were since before the accident!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

Could be your friends don't know what to do or say!. Strangers will stare just because you look different, I personally hate the strangers who think I'm deaf or daft and need to be placated all the time, it;s like I just can't be pi**ed off for things that annoy me in gereralWww@Answer-Health@Com

people get scared that they are going to offend you or hurt u in some way!. chances are that they have a thousand personal questions for you!.!.!.like what does it feel like and will you get a prostetic etc!.!.but they are scared to ask you!. Personally, i would just make sure that they feel comfortable around you and if you are alright with it encourage them to ask questions and once they get they're questions answered everyting will be closer to normal!. but from strangers you will always get stared at, trust me!. good luck!.!.!.ps!.!.!.Play wheelchair basketball! we're always looking for new recruitsWww@Answer-Health@Com

Give it some time, maybe they just don't know yet how to act around you!. Focus on your physical and emotional healing and recovery first!. If after some time they still ignore you, it's time to find new friends!. Take care!.Www@Answer-Health@Com
