Why would a prescription not be covered?!
Question: Why would a prescription not be covered!?
My husband is trying to quit smoking!. He got a prescription for Chantix, and our insurance will not cover it!. I guess I am a bit confused as to why an insurance company would not cover something that could save your life!? If he ends up getting lung cancer they would cover the cost but not something to prevent it!. Can someone please help me understand this!.

Its funny but each insurance company has its own formulary!. They constantly change it!. This time its not covered but next time you refill it, it may be!. There is no rhyme or reason for their decisions!.Www@Answer-Health@Com
it depends on what medicine is covered the doctor can be called by the pharmacist and changed to one that is similar or a generic of the medicine some insurance companies have even removed some medicines that are no longer coveredWww@Answer-Health@Com
insurance companies do their best to get out of paying for anything!.!.!.if there isn't a generic or something is expensive, it's always an out of pocket expense for the consumer!.!.!.!.sucks!.Www@Answer-Health@Com
