Surgery a good idea in this case?!

Question: Surgery a good idea in this case!?
I'm 50 and I have lingering pain in my knee from a bone bruise I got a little more than a year ago!. I also have some side effects in my right shoulder from tendinitis scar tissue which happened five years ago!. I've had to give up bowling and golf although the pain isn't severe from either, it's just enough to affect my games and spoil my enjoyment!. Can arthroscopic surgery help!? I've heard conflicting results and my doctor said I had about 50% chance of improvement!. Anyone have experience to share about it!?Www@Answer-Health@Com

Answers:
I would go for it!.!.!. The quality of life you are suffering, from giving up your hobbies, is going to cause further emotional issues as you age!.

I am almost 45 and if someone told me I would be giving up bowling for the rest of my life, I'd ask them to euthanize me now!.!.!.

My dad feels the same, he is 76 years old and has had both of the surgeries you refer to!.!.!.!.both knees and his right rotator cuff - he is still bowling, and he was only out of commission for about 5 weeks after each operation!.

My dad is also not retired completely, and believes that his activities are what make his life vital!.!.!.we are all avid bowlers, and although *I* haven't had all his surgeries (or yours) I would certainly recommend you go for it - I mean, really, what have you got to lose!?

ADD:

I wanted to note that in my father's situation, he did anything & everything to get back on his feet, and at times, he probably did too much in his efforts to recover his joint mobility!. That's how desperate he was!.

The doctor told him that his recovery times would be approximately 8-10 weeks after each surgery, but my dad was anxious to get moving again - probably not a wise choice!.!.!.it was risky what he did to push through the physical therapy and get moving faster than he should have, but I honestly believe he felt that if he stopped going, that his joints would forever be locked and he would be left crippled from enjoying life!.

Having said all that, my dad has full use of all the joints in question, and his average is only down about 10 pins!. He also lives on the 18th hole of a retirement community gold course here in Arizona!.!.!.right now it's just too darn hot to golf, but he is looking forward to getting back in the game this fall!.Www@Answer-Health@Com
