Question: What should I do if the tip of my fingertip gets smashed!?
The tip of my finger got smashed in a freight elevator !.!.!. my whole nail is purple and the tip of my finger is swollen !.!. there is no cut but i can tell that some blood accumulated in then tip of my finger and i wonder if the bone in the tip of my finger was affected badley!.!. what should i do !?
Do I have to flush the accumulated blood by stciking a needle inside!? or will some ice and time help with the healing process!? !.!. how do i know when i should take action by seeing the doctor!?Www@Answer-Health@Com

With trauma to the end of the finger, you could have what's called "mallet" finger!. This is where the very tip of the bone gets chipped off which has the ligament for straightening out your finger attached to it!.
If this bone chip with the ligament does not get reattached to the end of the bone, your finger won't work right anymore!.
I'd go to the doctor anyway just to make sure that you haven't done this or any other major damage to it!.
Definitely don't pierce the skin to drain it!. This can allow it to become very infected whereas it may just heal by itself otherwise!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

The black and blue will take care of itself but watch out for excessive swelling and redness, which could be signs of an infection!. Also keep tabs of your temperature, and if elevated get to the doctor, as it is probably an infection!. Good luck!.Www@Answer-Health@Com
