Learned insomnia (also known as psycho-physiological insomnia) is a type of insomnia associated with the actual excessive worrying of insomnia in itself resulting in tension & anxiety as bedtime approaches making it less likely to actually sleep!. This tension and worrying about sleep increases throughout the night and sets up a cycle for ongoing insomnia!.
Lifestyle factors such as caffeine near bedtime & smoking!. Use of alchohol may help you go to sleep but can also cause an interupted sleep throughout the night!. Working erratic hours such as shift work working non-traditional hours, such as nights or rotating shifts can create sleep problems!. Even unactivity can create insomnia because your body hasn't worked itself up to tiredness!.
Enviormental factors such as excessive noise and light!.
Psychiatric and physical illness such as mental disorders, depression, chronic pain, sleep apnea, gastric reflux, and even waking brain activity which is when the brain fails to sink fully into sleep levels 3 & 4 may all contribute to sleeplessness!.Www@Answer-Health@Com
