Yes!. Secure Horizons is owned by United HealthCare!. Secure Horizons offers mostly Medicare Fee-For-Service (FFS) plans!. This means that physicians offices bill Secure Horizons INSTEAD of Medicare!. Secure Horizons FFS acts, in a way, like Medicare plus a supplement!. Secure Horizons then collects payment from Medicare!. The monthly premiums to carry a FFS are way lower than a traditional supplement!. But, your mom will have to pay a deductible, co-pays and co-insurance for services - whereas with a traditional supplement she would not!. However, if she is in relatively good health, the FFS plan is definitely the way to go!. I recently switched my grandmother from a traditional supplement to an Anthem FFS plan!. FFS plans must provide at least the same coverage as traditional Medicare!. The deductible, co-pays, and co-insurance amounts vary between FFS plans - the lower those amounts run, the higher the monthly premium!. It's all about shopping around and finding the best balance!.
