Dislocated jaw?!
Question: Dislocated jaw!?
I don't know if thats what you call it or whatever ignore how I put it!.
Okay this is for my brother!.
Recently he woke up and his jaw was hurting and whenever he normally chews it hurts!.
He had me feel the side of his cheek and when he normally closes and opens his mouth (as in chewing), there's something that pokes out!.
What is this called!? Is it normal!? Is it serious!?
He hasn't been eating lately because it hurts him so much and I'm worried that it might be serious, plus my mom doesn't want to do anything about it!.

No type of pain is normal!. How old is your brother!? I ask because I'm torn between a jaw problem and a tooth issue!. Many tooth issues, wisdom teeth for example, can cause the symptoms you desrcibe!. Did he do anything to cause the jaw to perhaps dislocate!? Did he feel a pop or a wrench at anytime!? It's unusual for a jaw to dislocate itself without trauma unless a person is prone to that happening!. I'd recommend that your brother start with a doctor and then progress to a dentist if necessary!. Ask your mom if he can at least see a doctor about it!. In the meantime some Ibuprofen might help with the pain but make sure he takes it with food and your mom knows he's taking it!.Www@Answer-Health@Com
