Alternatives to Chiropratic for chronic upper back and neck pain?!

Question: Alternatives to Chiropratic for chronic upper back and neck pain!?
I've had upper back (shoulder) pain for a few years now (I'm 25) - and recently developed neck pain!. Going to the chiropractor does hlpe alleviate the pain, but it does not go away completely!. And I'm worried the more I go to the choripractor, the more I will need it!.

I've tried sports therapy, osteopathy, acupuncture, chinese medicine ball, nothing has worked as good as chiropractic, but I would like an alternative!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

Answers:
You could try a TINs unit, which electronically blocks the pain signals that your body sends to your brain!. You wear it on your hip like a cell phone, there are pads you attach to your body, where the pain bothers you!.
I am on pain meds!. They work great!.!.!.BUT are practically impossible to quit on your own once you begin them!. I don't necessarily recommend THAT path!.
Do you know WHY the pain is there!? Have you had an MRI, X-rays!? Once the reason is revealed, maybe your condition will be easier to treat!.

It is impossible for anyone to truly recommend a proper alternative for you, as we have no idea what is wrong with you!. Pain is only a symptom, and while there are many treatments to control pain, the only one which works properly is the one which treats the underlying condition!. The proper alternative would be based on the diagnosis, not on the symptom of pain!. If a person complains of pain, certain practitioners will provide some type of treatment to provide relief!. You will only get permanent relief if you have a diagnosis, and a plan of treatment!. Also, if you are having chiropractic treatments, and they do not correct the condition, and the treatment plan is for adjustments 2 or 3 times a week for a long term period, consider that insurance companies won't always pay for this, there is usually a reason, they limit the length of a treatment which doesn't provide a cure!.

While a TENS (Transcutaneous Electrical Nerve Stimulator) unit might provide relief, it would need to be prescribed by a physician or possibly your chiropractor!.

An ANS or Medtronics dorsal column stimulator is a much more significant procedure involving placement of electrodes into the spinal column, and is normally done by a specialist in pain management, but may be implanted by a neurosurgeon or spine surgeon!. This would normally be performed for chronic severe neuropathic (nerve) pain!.Www@Answer-Health@Com
