I have a cold and now pink eye?!

Question: I have a cold and now pink eye!?
I have been sick with a cold (sore throat, stuffy nose, scratchy voice) for almost a week!. I woke up this morning and my left eye had discharge around it, and now it's sore and slightly pink!. Is it common to get pink eye while having a cold!? I feel like my body is being attacked with too many infections at once!

How can I combat my cold and my pink eye without the doctor!? (I can't see to drive because I can't wear contact lenses with pink eye!. My husband can't get off work to take me!. The most I can do is wear my outdated glasses and drive to the local drug store) Thanks!.!.!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

Answers:
Do you know any nurses!? If you do call him/her up!. They may be able to get you some sample antibiotics!. If you have a cold the antibiotics won't work!. However, if your cold has caused a bacterial infection leading to the bacterial infection in your eye then antibiotics will definitely work!. If you don't know any nurses do call your doctor!. You may not have to make an appointment!. He may be able to call something in for you or he may also be able to give you some samples and your husband, mother, friend, or other relative can pick them up for you!. If when you get the antibiotics and your pink eye does not get better you may have the viral pink eye and there is really nothing you can do but let your immunity take take of the virus!. For relief of the symptoms of your pink eye, boil some water, allow it to cool to room temperature, bottle the water and pour some onto a rag soaking it and use the rag to compress your eye!. If your eyes are crusted and stuck together you may want to warm (comfortable warm not hot) the water and put it in a flush bottle and use it to flush the crud from your eye!. Be sure to keep your hands obsessive compulsively clean so that you don't spread the infection to the other eye!. Try and get plenty of rest so that your body can fight off the bacteria or virus better!. Your white blood cells need all the energy they can get!. Also try to get someone to give you a ride to the doctor if at all possible!. You may need some ointment for that eye!.Www@Answer-Health@Com
