I think i may have broken a rib?!

Question: I think i may have broken a rib!?
Well its not even painfull at the moment :/
It happens randomly, like on the odd occasion!. The last time i felt the pain was a month back i think!.
But at times it can give me a really sharp pain when i touch one of my left ribs, but not all the time!.
Sometimes after the sharp pain it can be hard to breath and make my breaths shallow!. I read that it hurts to move, sneeze, cough and things like that if its broken, but i don't suffer with any of that!. I'm really not sure wether its broken or its just bruised!. What do you think!?
I was also told that hospitals these days don't bond your ribs together like they used to and just leave them, is that true!? If it is, why!?
Thanks for your input!. Appreciated!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

Answers:
i dont think it broken cuz it dont sound like it is if it was you couldnt move with out it hurting but to be sure you said it on the left side that hurts so check your right side and see how it feels this will tell it all then check the left(the hurting side) and if you feel something poken out or any different from the right side then it broken but if not then it bruised but you should go to the hospital to check it out

i hope this helpsWww@Answer-Health@Com

My sister bruised her rib cage once!. And there was nothing they could do about it!. NOTHING!. She was screaming crying, but the only thing that you can do is rest!. It doesn't sound like it is broken, Could be bruised though, Was there an incident that caused the pain to start!? If there wasn't it is probably something different!. Go to the doctor and have him/her check it out!.

i actually dont know what that is!. i have the same problem with my right rib!. i leaned over a desk in class and it kinda felt like the rib went underneath another i couldnt breat properly till i heard a snap and it felt like it was back in its spotWww@Answer-Health@Com

It is true that they don't bandage it!.

Why!? Because that puts pressure on it, which could lead it to collapsing or puncturing your lung!.

So, the best idea is just to rest!.

Good luckWww@Answer-Health@Com
