Could I have broken my wrist?!

Question: Could I have broken my wrist!?
I had surgery on my right thumb joint (the one closest to my wrist) about 8 weeks ago!. I had a silicone joint put in where my old worn out one was!. I was in a cast for 6 weeks then a personal cast ( a half cast made just to fit me with Velcro that I can take on and off for exercise and bathing) for 2 weeks!. Yesterday was the first day to take the personal cast off and leave it off!. Today I was cleaning out a child's pool (the blow up kind) and went to turn it over to hold up and clean out the inside and heard and felt my wrist pop!. I felt tremendous pain in my wrist!. I can still do my thumb exercises without pain, but can not bend my wrist back as to press it against a chair arm to get up or pick up anything heavy!. I have an appointment tomorrow!. But do you think I may have broken it!?Www@Answer-Health@Com

Answers:
You could have, but let's hope you didn't!. The doctor or PT will have to examine it anyway, so take care to ice it and perhaps put the latest cast back on, at least until they get a good look at it!. It is possible that the entire wrist is just not as strong and flexible as before surgery, and you may have just pulled a tendon or something!.
I'll send up an extra prayer tonight!.
Let the experts take care of it tomorrow!.

A dislocation of the wrist is a huge possiblitly!. Since you heard a pop and not a crack that means that the joint between arm and wrist poped out (dislocation) if you cannot bend your risk that means may truley be dislocated!. You should ice it and take it to the doctor he will pop it back in, but the sooner the apointment the less the damage!. (If you dislocated it are you sure yu can drive with one hand!?)

It`s hard to say without looking at your wrist!. It could have been broken, popped out of place, fractured, anything!
My advice is to take some pain killers, ice it for 20- 30 minutes , then heat it for 30- 40 minutes!. If you have a wrap it would work good also to put around your wrist until tomorrow when you go for your appointment!.It sounds like a dislocation because of the "Pop" you said you heard!. I hope I helped ! :)Www@Answer-Health@Com
