As long as i work in front of a computer i'm in lots of pain &it affects my !


Question: As long as i work in front of a computer i'm in lots of pain &it affects my work!? what can i do!?
i graduated about a year ago and ever since i started working full-time (8 hours a day) in front of the computer i've been in lots of pain!.i get lower back pain, shoulder pain, neck stiffness, headaches from my neck stiffness, and my arms & hands hurt!. i KNOW it's from the computer because when i'm away for a few a days from it i'm fine!! i work out everyday!. i do yoga!. i get up every 30 - 40 mins to walk around!. i go for a 30 minute walk during my lunch break!. even though i do all this, i still get all this pain! it wasn't like this in school cus i never had to work for 8 hours in front of a computer!. i'd have class for 1 hr & 40 mins, then i'd walk around, and during class we didnt use cpu's!. anyone experience something similar!? what did you do!? am i going to eventually have to switch careers!? i'm a software developer! i'm starting to hate it because of all this discomfort!!

Well be grateful that you have a job where you can get up every 30 minutes!. My last computer job I wasn't allowed to leave my chair and I wasn't even allowed to talk to the other employees, and yes In the USA employers can pretty much do what they want!.

Chiropractors don't help people's backs, why do you think they have people come back all the time!? It's called the almighty dollar!.

I keep my keyboard on top of the desk!. That helps me a lot!. I also sometimes place a box under my desk so I can put my feet up!. This way I don't have to sit all hunched up in one position all day!. Believe me having good posture while sitting all day, does NOT help!. You need to be comfortable so your muscles don't stiffen up!.

Edit: Oh I don't work there anymore lol!.!.!.It's good you don't have the arthritis, I was born with it!.!.Well, I would try the comfort thing, ya know, try to sit more relaxed etc!.!.!. Sitting just isn't good for people, but then again, neither is ditch digging ha!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

Im not sure if they have this out siide of canada, but search 'Workplace safety and insurence board' it is an insurance board that is based on people who get injured in the workplace!. If you have pains because of the way you sit, type, call them, they will tell you what you can do, if there anre any keyboards, or chairs!.Www@Answer-Health@Com
