Lower back injury?!

Question: Lower back injury!?
i had a car crash in May!. A couple of days later i was crippled with pain in my lower spine!. i couldnt sit, stand etc!. My husband took me to hospital and they said i had inflamation around the disc!. Gave me pain killers and told me to see my doctor in 3 days time (which i did)!. he also confirmed that my disc was swollen and that i had the siatic nerve trapped as the pain was shooting down my legs into my feet!. He refered me to physio where i am undergoing Traction treatment and heat treatment etc!. I feel like i'm being crusified with pain!. The embarresing thing is that i am finding it hard to control my bladder and have leakage before i manage to get to the toilet as my legs and knees are that sore if i walk that i cant get to the toilet quick enough!. I had to see an independant doctor and he kept on and on at me about why i havent had one of those M!.R!.I scans!. I told him that i dont know!. all i know is that the physio said i have problems with my L5 disc!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

Answers:
I'm not sure why they haven't giving you a M!.R!.I scan at first but this is my opinion!. Get a second opinion!.
Conservative treatment, including physical therapy and anti-inflammatory drugs, is often successful in relieving pain from a herniated, or "slipped," disk!. Unless the pain or numbness is severe or nerve function is impaired to the point of weakness of your leg muscles, you should try those alternative for two to three months before resorting to more invasive techniques such as local cortisone injections or surgery but good luck!.Www@Answer-Health@Com
