is sciatica only caused by a knocked out vertabrea pinching the sciatic nerve or is it ONLY if you have a herniated disc that is pressing against the sciatic nerve!. i have pain running down both legs from my butt!.!.!.ive had chiropractic work done just wondering if sciatica only due to herniated discs or can it be caused by a out of place vertabrea!.!.!.!.in very lower back!.!.!.!.below butt crackWww@Answer-Health@Com

Sciatica can be caused by vertebrea pinching the nerves, for whatever reason they are out of place!.
It can also be caused by muscles entrapping the nerve and applying pressure!. There are several large muscles in your buttocks and the nerve that is usually involved in sciatica runs right below and through them!. If these muscles (especially the piriformis) become tight, they can pinch the nerve and cause similar pain!.
If your chiropractor feels you're suited, you may want to try Massage Therapy!. With a skilled therapist, tightness in your glutes could be worked through!. This may take a few sessions to accomplish relief and may require maintenance sessions to prevent the muscles from re-tightening (depending on the cause of the tightness and your behavior changes)!. Between regular massage therapy and your chiropractic work, you could recover completely, or at least get the sciatica under control!.
