Aching pain in my kidneys?!

Question: Aching pain in my kidneys!?
I've been ill since last Thursday with a terrible stomach bug, it's progressivley gotten worse from vomiting to diarrhea!. I've been drinking alot of lucozade, water the usual!. I've noticed from the start of my stomach bug but it is now becoming worse is that I am getting a very painful sort of throbbing ache on my lower back, both sides where my kidneys are!. I went to the doctors yesterday and stupidly forgot to mention it!. When I urinate it doesn't burn or hurt it just smells rancid, it really is awful!. When I was a child I used to have alot of kidney problems and infections so it worrys me!. Does this sound like I might need to get myself back to the doctors!? I'm in so much pain and I'm feeling exhausted and very dehydrated, any suggestions to help ease the aches and pains in my kidneys!? ThanksWww@Answer-Health@Com

As I'm sure you know, your kidneys filter all the liquids in your body and 'sort-out' what to absorb and what to discard in the way of urine - they're amazing things! Dehydration will cause your kidneys to ache, as they don't function well without water!. The rancid smell is also due to your body not having enough pure liquids (water) to dilute the waste products!.Whatever you do, stop drinking lucozade! - it's full of caffeine which is a diaretic and will make you want go to the loo an awful lot and lose even more vital fluids!. If you're very dehydrated, increase your intake of salt (but don't get carried away!) along with plenty of water as when dehydrated, the body loses lots of invaluable salt an minerals!. Here in the UK, drug stores sell 'rehydration' powders to help with this!. If it continues and you feel worse, it may be a kidney infection, which you should get checked out!. Most kidney infections can be treated with antibiotics and won't cause any other complications!.Www@Answer-Health@Com
