Ear pain? injury or sympathy pain????!

ok, well i slightly hit the side of my face and jaw 3 days ago and my face feels fine now, there was never any bruising, just slightly ran into something while under the influence of wine, hahah!.!.!.but my ear hurts on that side!. Not a bad hurt, just a dull ache!. I just took my boyfriend to urgent care last night because he had a severve case of swimmers ear and had to have a wick put in because it was swollen shut!. I know I can't catch swimmers ear (I wouldn't think) Do i have some weird case of sympathy pain or could something be wrong with my ear!? It hurts more when I open my mouth wide and has a dull ache all day!. What should I do or take!? How long does ear pain from an injury last!?
