Can anyone decipher my physical therapy script for thumb rehabilitation??!

Question: Can anyone decipher my physical therapy script for thumb rehabilitation!?!?
7 weeks ago I had surgery to reattach the extensor tendons in my thumb after a near severing accident!. I had the cast and 2 pins removed yesterday and was given a script for physical therapy!. They are closed for the weekend, but I would like to start some light exercises(if possible)!. My script reads as follows:

Hand Therapy 2-3 x week
Durable Medical Equipment: dynamic PIP extension splint prn
Diagnosis: 727!.63 Ruptured Tendon Extensor Hand and Wrist
AROM, PROM, AAROM CMC IP and MP left thumb
intrinsic muscle stretching
scar massage and desensitization
edema control with coban wraps
modalities may include iontophoresis with NaCl to scars prn, heat, ice
advance to strength as tol; may use therapeutic putty
night extension splinting of IPJ and protection at work
HEP

I have no clue what any of this means and if some one could explain to me what this all means I would greatly appreciate it!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

Answers:
Hand Therapy 2-3 x week- this mean what type of therapy the doctor wants and how often!. Hand therapy two to thre times a week

Durable Medical Equipment: dynamic PIP extension splint prn-this means the type of splint he wants on the area that is hurt; the prn means as needed!.

Diagnosis: 727!.63 Ruptured Tendon Extensor Hand and Wrist- this means the diagnosis they are going to use to bill your insurance company for the therapy; the 727!.63 is just and ICD-9 code that medcial people use for billing purposes!.

AROM-means active range of motion to the area

PROM-means passive range of motion to the area

AAROM-means active assisted range of motion to the area

CMC IP and MP left thumb-are the type of contractures you have to the area that is hurt (meaning they are hard to move)

intrinsic muscle stretching- means the type of muscle stretching therapy they will provide on the area during therapy!.

scar massage and desensitization is deep tissue therapy to the area that is effected to help with the range of motion etc!. For medical purposes, desensitization is a method to reduce or eliminate an organism's negative reaction to the injury!.

edema control with coban wraps-this just means they are going to use a type of wrap similar to ace wraps but a different material to keep down the swelling to the effected area!.

modalities may include iontophoresis with NaCl to scars prn, heat, ice-This is just some things that they can apply to your hand/thumb or whatever your effected area is!.

advance to strength as tol,-this means they want you to strengthen the tissue as you can tolerate it!.

may use therapeutic putty-this means you can use the terapeutic putty to help build back up the strength to the area and help loosen up the areas that are tight!.

night extenstion splinting of IPJ- this is the type of splint they will want you to wear at night while you sleep and for protection at work

I am not a physcial therapist so that may not be exactly what it all means but it is close!. I am a nurse that works on the rehabilition wing with the therapists!.

Best I could do!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

Why don't you take it to the physical therapist to have them splint, wrap, stretch, massage, medicate, and then wrap some more!? It sounds like you need a professional to do this for you!. That's why it's written for the physical therapist!. You can go once, see how they do it, and then decide if it's something you can do on your own!.Www@Answer-Health@Com
