Tongue biting during seizure?!
Question: Tongue biting during seizure!?
I had a grand mal last Sunday and bit clean through my tongue with an eye tooth!. I still can't talk straight or eat right!.
Does ANYONE know a way to prevent tongue biting or speed up healing process!? Thank you!Www@Answer-Health@Com

I'll tell you, I'm at a loss!. I have a feeling that you're going to be concerned about the dignity factor i!.e!. wearing a mouthguard or splint, or having a dog following you everywhere, would be less than ideal!.
Again!.!.!. hm!. Geez, you would hope that there's someone smart trying to think about this already!. But it's hard enough to secure a broken finger, much less a muscle inside your mouth!.

Meli-j is correct, also you might want to swish either half strenght peroxide, (half water) 2-3x a day!. Or if you dont have or cannot stand peroxide, use salt water to rinse, it will make your poor tongue heal faster!. I hope your tongue feels better!. People used to put a spoon in somebodies mouth that was starting to seize!. Did you forget to take your meds!? If not, you might want to have some labs done to determine blood levels on your anti-seizure meds or the doc might want to look at your meds since you have now gotten injured from the ineffective meds!. Definitely look into it, it could be worse next time!.Www@Answer-Health@Com
actually my mom gets seizure's sometimes due to epilepsy, the old method to prevent it is to stick a big wooden spoon in ur mouth like ur biting on the handle!.!.!.(usually have someone else push and hold it in there for u)

i bit through my toungue as a child but dont fret mouth wounds heal very quickly just try not to mess with it and dont suck anything it creates a vaccuum and re opens the woundWww@Answer-Health@Com
