What is wrong with my wrist?!

Question: What is wrong with my wrist!?
last night i slipped over on my kitchen floor and landed badly on my left wrist, as i fell i put my left arm out and when i hit the floor the bottom on my hand and wrist hit the floor first and my fingers were facing up and shooting pains began then!.

the pain was excruciating so i called my mum who was at a party to come home, she got home but could not take me to A&E because she had been drinking, so i went to bed still in agony and this morning i cant even bend my hand upwards or straighten out my fingers and i can't move my forearm in fast movements because it hurts too much!.

the pain is literally on the bendy bit of the wrist where my wrist and hand join and it's horrible if I try and bend it completely!. It's a really sharp pain that literally makes me gasp, but what is it - does anyone know what I've done!?

i know i need to go to A&E but what does it sound like!?

(sorry about spelling/punctuation mistakes i'm typing one handed lol)Www@Answer-Health@Com

either a fracture of one or more bones or just a sprain-get to a&eWww@Answer-Health@Com

Hello there,
If you landed on your outstretched hand, you have probably broken a bone called the scaphoid!. If you fell on the back or side of your hand, it could be a strained ligament!. In either case, you should go to A/E and be checked!. Good luck!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

well i dont think its broken cause you would have been in a hell of alot more pain plus youre able to move your hand just a bit it seems like!.
I think it may be sprained though!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

it sounds like you have badly sprained or even broken it!. i did some thing sumular to you and i hav broken my wrist now and are currently in plaster from it! so i would advise you to go into a and e immidietly! lol hope i helpedWww@Answer-Health@Com

If your going to the a&e (which i'm assuming is like an emergency room) then theres really no point in asking people on yahoo who cannot see your wrist or run the proper diagnostic tests!.!.!.!.!.sorry
by the way thank you everyone for the thumbs down i like how you think your so great you can diagnos someone without examination!.!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

Get to an emergency clinic or hospital as soon as you can; you probably fractured your wrist!.
1!. A broken bone and a fracture are the same thing
2!. You can move your hand or wrist even if it is fractured!.
I am an operating room nurse and broke my wrist a few years ago during a hurricane!. I went to the emergency room and was told by the ER doc that it wasn't broken, so I went back to work and assisted on several surgeries until an orthopedic surgeon asked what was wrong with my wrist!. I told him what happened and he went to the ER to review my x-ray, only to find that it indeed was fractured!. He fixed it right there, put a splint on it and I went back to work; only no assisting for a month!. Good luck to you and please don't be afraid!Www@Answer-Health@Com

Either broken Bone hunny or a Fracture, both of which cause sharp shooting pains, in that damaged area!.Www@Answer-Health@Com
