Question: When I go to the doctor she gives me a shot in the butt of something for my allergies!?
I have been told it is a steriod and then its not a steriod, but its always the same shot of the same thing, would anyone have any clues at to what it could be as I know I will recognize the name when I read/hear it!?
Sort of a general all purpose drug, not a specific allergy drug, I am told!.
Also I am told the shot lasts for about 2 to 3 months!.

It sounds like you are either getting Kenalog or Solumedrol shots (both are in the corticosteroid family)!. Please be careful as both are considered very potent with somewhat nasty long term side effects!. I would question the doctor further so that you get all pertinent info about what she is giving you beforehand!.Www@Answer-Health@Com
I have no idea what you are getting but that should be of concern to you!. You should always know exactly what your Dr!. is giving you and if you want to know more about it ask your Dr!. to write it down for you to research!. Don't forget that even if you feel rushed in the office that they are working for you and you have the right to have all of your questions answered!. Also, you can always call your Dr office and ask a nurse what you got and they will tell you over the phone and probably explain it better to you!.
My daughter has had bad allergies since she was about 3 (she is 10 now) with asthma for the last year on top of the allergies!. She has seen her regular physician along with 2 different actual allergy Dr's and never have any of them just given her a shot in the office!. She does get allergy shots but you must go thru allergy testing to receive those!.Www@Answer-Health@Com
