Question: What is wrong with me if i cant fall asleep!?
I cant fall asleep for atleast one hour soemtimes 2 if i just lay in bed!. do i have insomnia!? idk what to do!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

You're probably not tired!. Is this something that's happening continuously, night after night, or is this the first time!?

There are several ways to tire yourself: exercise, a hot bath, relaxation techniques such as focusing on your breathing!. If you feel you have a sleeping disorder, there are also sleep medications available, both over-the-counter and by prescription!. Some people have great results; for others, they don't work at all!. So, that's something you would want to talk to your doctor about!. Do you feel tired in the morning, like you aren't well-rested!? Do you wake up several times a night and have trouble falling asleep!? I'm only asking these questions because they, too, would be signs of insomnia!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

You do indeed have insomnia!.

There are several things you can do to help- first of all, no TV, or any electronic stimulus including cell phone talking for an hour before you go to bed- it gives your mind a chance to slow down!.
Establish a routine for getting ready for bed- the same thing every night!. that will cue the mind that it's time to slow down and get ready for sleep!.
Make sure that your room and bed are comfortable!.
don't exercise in the evening , it might keep you up at night!.

The best thing to do if you have insomnia is not to lie awake in bed and think about it!. Either try to do some visualization of a place that you have been to and enjoyed, or count sheep, or simply count your breaths-
For example;
Concentrate on your breathing!. Take in a breath for a count of four- a slow four count!. Make sure you start to breath from the belly, chest and then to the top of the shoulders!. Exhale, from the top to the bottom!. Repeat that cycle!. Concentrate on that and only that!. As you get more experience at deep breathing, do a four count inhale, hold your breath for a four count, then exhale for an eight count!.
The more you focus on this, the more relaxed your body will get!. It isn't easy to do this, but it really works pretty well

Visualization of a special place- once again, concentrate on really seeing that place, the people and the day!. Use deep slow breaths in and out, then think about the day until you drift off into a warm place!.

If none of those things work, then get up, do some boring chore like folding laundry, and go to bed when you are sleepy enough to fall asleep right away!.

As a former sufferer of Insomnia, I feel your pain!. Try to stay on a normal sleep schedule and avoid naps at all cost!. The best thing to do in this situation is to get a good magazine or book and stay in bed with it!. Turn on minimal light and read!. Getting out of bed will only make you even more active and push back the time you'll go to sleep even further!. Try Melatonin, an herbal sleep remedy!. It can be purchased in the pharmacy of your local grocery store!. Take it about 20 minutes before bed, hop in bed with a good book, and you should get sleepy fairly soon!. Do not take it and get up and move around, because you can easily fight off and lose the effect!. If this doesn't work and you continue to have problems, you need to consult your doctor!. You may have insomnia, but I think because you struggle so much going to sleep that now you view your bed as a negative place, where all you do is spend hours awake wanting to sleep!. If you can't fall asleep, do yourself a favor and get up and do something boring and productive - balance your checkbook, do some bills, something to tire your mind out so you eventually want to go back to sleep!. I have suffered from not being able to sleep since I was 18mths!. Sometimes I can be awake until at dawn and then I fall asleep from exhaustion!. It sucks!. But one thing you should do is hide the clock, don't keep checking the time and don't worry about what the time is, who cares what the time is you'll fall asleep eventually!. The other night I kept worrying about the time!. I had to get up at 6:00am and I didn't get to sleep until about 3:00am!. I ended up not being able to go to school!. I can't tell if you have insomnia unless you let us know when you wake up!. Most people don't need much more than 5 or 6 hours sleep a day!. If you sleep in late, then you are less likely to fall asleep in the evening!.

Getting into a routine is usually the solution to sleep problems!. If you set an alarm to wake at the same time every morning, you will gradually find out when you need to get to sleep!. If this doesn't work, then I'd get some professional advice; and remember, don't worry!. It only makes you feel bad!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

this may be mild insomnia, but true insomniacs take much longer to fall asleep, sometimes they go days without sleeping!! try some natural remedies!.!.!. warm milk and honey or chamomile tea before bed, warm shower/bath, lavendar essential oil is good for inducing calmness and sleep!. also, be sensible keep caffeine consumption low especially before bed time and no exercise or heavy meals for at least two hours before you go to bed!.!.!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

If it's only 1 or 2 hours then it wouldn't be insomnia!. Go to bed only when you feel sleepy!. Make sure that you wake up at the same time every morning, even if you've only had a few hours sleep that night because when you go to bed the night after you'll get to sleep more quickly!. Stop eating or taking any vitamin supplements at least 3 hours before you go to sleep, because these can make your body feel energised!. Make sure that you exercise throughout the day!. You could even put some lavender oil on your pillowcase, as it is a relaxant!.

you could have insomnia!. However, if you fall asleep then you don't!. you just have fmore difficulty falling asleep than the normal person does!. There are some things you should consider that may be the cause of this!. Do you watch tv or go online for a while before going to bed!? if so, try not to because the light and waves of the tv and computer affect your sleep and make you less tired!. Do you do exercise late at night!? Try not to do any exercise past 5 or 6 so it doesn't wind you up for bed!. Don't drink soda or caffeine after 5 or 6!. Try drinking warm milk with honey or cinnamon, it usually helps sooth you or buy some tea that helps you sleep (caffeine free tea ofcourse-avoid black, white or green teas for bed)!. There is tea called sweet dreams that helps soothe you and relax you before bed!. Finally, avoid napping throughout the day, this breaks up your sleeping so you may find it harder to fall asleep when it really counts!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

maybe u r nerveous about somenthing or u r thinking about someone!.

before going to bed dont eat anything just have a drink of water and go to bed relax and start dreaming make up ur own thing ur imagination and dont think about sleeping !.
it might help also to maybe work out or do somenthing that would make u tired like going running or working out or maybe going to a long day at the beach or pool that relaxes ppl!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

That happens to a lot of people as you know!. My doctor told me to not go to bed until I know that I am totally ready to go to sleep!.
You're not supposed to go to the place that you sleep and try to fall asleep if you're not sure your able to!. Does that make sense!?
It worked for me though!.

Might not be sleepy, might have a different sleeping cycle, might have alot on your mind!. My mind never stops and I keep thinking about stuff so I find it hard to fall asleep!. Just lie there in a comfortable position and think of stuff, nothing too exciting or that makes you think too hard, and you'll eventually drift off :]Www@Answer-Health@Com

I would suggest excercise more, or drink less coffee if you drink it at all!. I used to have the same problem, but now I dont really think about going to bed and before I realize it its the next morning!. Try excercising right before bed, to lose some energy, or get a hot shower/bath right before bed!. Drink some warm milk also, that might help!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

You might have a sleeping disorder which is perfectly normal!. Many people have this and it's very common in the eaverage teen!. The disorder is mainly cause by stress!. Tip 1!. Read the first few chapters of Insomnia by Stephen King!. By god is it BORING!!!
Tip 2!. Stop timing how long it takes you to sleep!. You are keeping your brain active which prolongs your waking time!.
Tip 3!. Try some relaxation excercises!. (I use them only on particularly bad nights because they make me dizzy)!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

you're probably just anxious about something!. try not to think about anything and just focus on you're breathing or something!. this usually helps for me cuz i have the same problem!. it sometimes takes me 2-3 hours to finally fall asleep!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

Your body may be mixing up your sleep schedule!. It will move it a couple hours at a time!. Just go to bed when your tired and wake up when your ready and then when it gets back around to the time when you normally go to bed it should be back to normal!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

U R perfectly normal!.What u need tu do is make ur day to day
life more interesting, create new goals & try to meet them,meet people & have fun!.

i have the same problem!. i take ambien cr!. it makes me do things in my sleep that i don't remember!. like eat!. i found hard boiled egg shells in my bed the other day!.

i have had 3 sleep studies done!. lost 50 pounds!.

i see a psychiatrist every month who is wonderful!.

i try not to have caffeine!. even a little bit keeps me awake!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

Your sleeping to early, if you don't feel tired when it's your normal bed time then stay up until your eyes start to close, you'll get to sleep no problem then and feel a lot better in the morning than if you tried sleeping your normal time!.Www@Answer-Health@Com
