What is the role of EMT or Hospitilization/doctors for someone choking if first procedures do not work!? Can they successfully restore the patient's health and well being!?

Answers:
From an EMT standpoint:

If the patient is moving enough air to cough forcefully, we simply encourage them to do that an apply oxygen if we can so that the air they are getting has as much oxygen as possible!.

If they are moving little to no air, but conscious, we perform the Heimlich maneuver!.

If they go unconscious, we check the airway for any visible obstruction!. If we can't see it- we start CPR to try and force the object out of the airway!.

The role of the hospital or a doctor would be the same, essentially!. Perhaps with the use of medicine!.Www@Answer-Health@Com
