Help! I have a sharp pain on the right side of my abdomen?!
Question: Help! I have a sharp pain on the right side of my abdomen!?
To give you an idea of where it is, there are four quadrants around the belly button, with the belly button in the middle!. The pain is in the bottom right (my right)!. It is a sharp pain that comes with certain movement and when pressure is exerted on it!. I've had it since last night!. I'm a bit of a hypochondriac so I'm thinking the worse but here are some possibilities:
-menstrual pain!. I started my period today so my mom is saying it's probably menstrual pains!. I've never had it like this before though
-gas!. I have IBS!.!.!. could gas pains be this bad!?
-I started doing a new type of crunches about a week ago!. Perhaps I'm doing them wrong!?
And last!.!.!. appendicitis!?!? All I know is that pain on your right side is bad!. My mom is telling me that it is more on the side though!.!.!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

First of all, calm down!. You haven't had the pain for very long so I wouldn't be too alarmed yet!. There's numerous possibilities, so let's not get carried away!.
Stop doing the new type of crunches for about a week and see if that helps!. Also, considering you have IBS, take some Imodium or something along those lines!. If it doesn't go away after all that, just go talk to a doctor!. I'm sure you'll be fine :)Www@Answer-Health@Com

Pain from appendicitis is usually 4 inches to the right and slightly lower than the belly button!. Gall bladder is on the right side and just a little under the rib cage, some people it's slightly higher!. You should see a doctor and have some blood drawn to see if your white blood cell count is high this is usually an indication of appendicitis!. I think regardless of whatever the problem is you should get checked out by a doctorWww@Answer-Health@Com
Sounds about right for appendicitis!. I've seen a few people with appendicitis and the pain can vary in its location from being more towards the side to being more towards the front!. You should get that looked at ASAP!.

Odds are it is nothing serious!. However!.!. if it is appendicitis you could have it rupture and you will be dead in under an hour!. Better be safe and just have it checked!. I have had it and was 14 when it happened!. Could have died if my mother had waited!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

I could be anything from gas to appendicitis, pancreatitis, heart attack, gallstones, or menstrual pain!. Oh menstrual pain HURTS some women really badly and I'm one of those lucky women!
My brother had sharp pains in his side and didn't think it was anything!. I forced him to go to the hospital to get it checked out and it turned out to be appendicitis and he could have died if he didn't get it treated!.
I'd go to the doctor right away and find out!.
If its cramps Advil and a hot water bottle will do wonders!. Also try going to the washroom (#2) and see if that helps it (sorry gross I know)!. If none of these things help and you still haven't gone to the doctor!.!.!. then GO!Www@Answer-Health@Com
