Question: Surgery & Anesthetic!?
I am having a laparoscopy operation in just over a weeks time!. If I give up smoking now what affect should the anesthetic have!? Will have I any affect!? I smoke 6-8 a day!. I am 25 years of age!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

No difference!. I smoke more than that and have had surgery several times!. If you want to feel better about that and your smoking, don't smoke anything a couple days before the procedure!. You'll be just fine!. Now if you had a chest cold with congestion, or a sinus infection with drainage, they wouldn't do the surgery until the lungs and sinuses are clear!.
