Is it possible to overdose on Childrens Motrin?!
Question: Is it possible to overdose on Childrens Motrin!?
My daughter had her tonsils removed Tuesday and she is in such aweful pain, my heart is breaking for her!.!.!.!. I have been giving her Childrens Motrin every 8 hours as directed with Tylenol in between doses!.!.!.!.here's my question!.!.!. Her dosage is 2 teaspoons full every 8 hours!.!.!.I gave her 2 teaspoons 2 hours ago but she just woke up screaming in pain 20 minutes ago so I gave 2 and a 1/2 more teaspoons full!. All together that's almost 5 teaspoons full in 2 hours!.!.!.will this dosage amount hurt her!? She is 6 years old and 46 pounds!.
I am waiting for the doctor to call in a prescription tomorrow morning for Tylenol w/ codeine ( sp!? ) !.!.!. I just didn't know what else to do but give her more medicine tonite!.!.!.will this hurt her!?Www@Answer-Health@Com

She will not overdose with the amounts that you gave her but IT COULD give her severe loose stools tomorrow morning!.
It's so hard to watch your child suffer and sometimes we just listen to our maternal instincts!.!.!.I'm sure that you wanted to take the pain away but the right dosage is really important!.
She may have an infection or she just may be very sensitive!.
Her throat could be dry and irritated!. Is there anything else that your pumpkin could take!? MAYBE a natural medicine!?
I just know that Jello-0, ice cream, Popsicles and cold Pudding are soothing!. Try asking her what she wants!.

yes you can overdose, If she is in so much pain you should take her to the ER because having your tonsils removed should not hurt I remembered I had no trouble since they gave me ice cream and jello and even ice to numb my throat maybe she is getting an infection but don't give her anymore motrin it's not good for them anyway!. the doctor should have given you a prescription before leaving the hospital to begin withWww@Answer-Health@Com
Yes, you can overdose from giving someone too much medication!. It has to do with liver damage!. Try the doc's answering service, he might be able to call in a prescription to an overnight pharmacy!.Www@Answer-Health@Com
