Does a radiologist need good people skills?!

Question: Does a radiologist need good people skills!?
I am a college senior and am trying to figure out my career path!. My people skills are not that good and thats why I think maybe I should not try to be a doctor!. I I believe I have a decent shot to get into an ok medical school, but I am wondering if I should do something else such as geology, accounting or actuarial math!. They all do not require much people skills!. I believe can get into a fairly good geology ph!.D!. program!. I would have to start all over if I wanted to do accounting or actuary!. Can I be a radiologist and still not have good people skills!? I can communicate well in writing but not so much verbally!. Thanks!Www@Answer-Health@Com

Answers:
A radiologist will be in close contact with many people throughout the work day - physicians, unit clerks, file clerks, scheduling clerks, gophers, etc!., and he'll need to be able to communicate well with all of them - in order to be able to do an effective job!. You will also see some patients because there are procedures that a radiologist performs - it's not just reading the films!. Some people that consider themselves to not possess good people skills also go into anesthesiology - though most of the time they do speak to patients prior to their surgery!. You might be interested in forensic pathology (the patients are dead) but you'll still have staff and co-workers to think of!. I can't think of any career that would let you be isolated so perhaps you need to reassess your skills - I have a feeling you're not as deficient in people skills as you think and perhaps you're being just a bit hard on yourself!.Www@Answer-Health@Com
