Running injury - hip flexors?!

Question: Running injury - hip flexors!?
I've been running actively for about 4 months now, about 2+ miles a day!. I took a week off then went back and ran normal speed the normal distance!. Now my hip flexors in my right leg are killing me! But they didn't start hurting while running, it was the day after which seems odd to me because whenever I pull a muscle it hurts when I'm actually doing the activity!.

Has anyone else experienced this or something like it!? I can't lift my leg, I have to actually manually lift it with my arms or I have to concentrate REALLY hard to lift it through the pain!. It also hurts to sit, lay down and walk!.!.!.standing is really all I can do painfree!.!.!.

Anyone know how long this may last!?

Sorry for all the rambling!.!.!.I'm just venting because it's starting to get frustrating!.

Thanks!Www@Answer-Health@Com

Hey there, I think your hip flexors are just strained!. Try stroking the muscle with an ice bag while stretching it really slowly (stroke gently in the direction of stretching, longitudinal to the muscle fiber)!. Stretch your hip flexors while lying on the other side, and make these strokes for 15 seconds!. This should relief spasms that cause the pain!. Let your muscle rest as much as possible to give it a chance to heal!. Try lying down with your hip a bit flexed and a bit abducted to keep the muscle in a relaxed position!.
I think it would last for a 1 or 2 weeks, depends on the amount of strain!.
Hope it helps!. Muslimah : )
