That could be pus, meaning your burn is infected!. You may need to go to the doctor if that is the case!. If there are blisters, that means you have a second degree burn!. It will take two to three weeks to heal!.

I copied and pasted this from familydoctor!.org

How to treat a second degree burn:

Soak the burn in cool water for 15 minutes!. If the burned area is small, put cool, clean, wet cloths on the burn for a few minutes every day!. Then put on an antibiotic cream, or other creams or ointments prescribed by your doctor!. Cover the burn with a dry nonstick dressing (for example, Telfa) held in place with gauze or tape!. Check with your doctor's office to make sure you are up-to-date on tetanus shots!.

Change the dressing every day!. First, wash your hands with soap and water!. Then gently wash the burn and put antibiotic ointment on it!. If the burn area is small, a dressing may not be needed during the day!. Check the burn every day for signs of infection, such as increased pain, redness, swelling or pus!. If you see any of these signs, see your doctor right away!. To prevent infection, avoid breaking any blisters that form!.

Burned skin itches as it heals!. Keep your fingernails cut short and don't scratch the burned skin!. The burned area will be sensitive to sunlight for up to one year!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

If it is a big burn I recommend you go to the doctors!.

Sounds like a Second-degree burns, they can have a yellowish film may form over the burn initially and there is usually drainage (liquid coming from the burn) and a slight smell for the first week!. Drainage does not always mean the burn is infected!. Watch for increased redness, presence of pus (not a clear, but a yellow, thick fluid), swelling, hot to the touch, or a red streak leading from the site!.

Make not to touch the burn or scratch!. After 24 hours wash in cool soapy water!. Superficial second-degree burns usually heal in 7-14 days!. If the blister breaks leave the overlying skin intact as a "wet dressing!." Avoid using local anaesthetic sprays or creams as they may actually slow healing!. Cover with a dry, sterile dressing!. Change the bandage daily or more often and watch for signs of infection!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

If its blistering and is on your chest, you should see Urgent Care or and ER!.

Do NOT do anything!.!.!. no creams or lotions!. Use a spray bottle to spray cool water on the burn site and wear only loose fitting cotton top!.

The blistering could easily lead to an infection and needs a topical prescription!. Do get it looked at today!. Its not something you want to mess with!.Www@Answer-Health@Com
