Reading and Upper Back/Neck Soreness?!

Question: Reading and Upper Back/Neck Soreness!?
Whenever I read a book (in bed, in a chair, wherever) I always get a really sore upper back/neck!. Any ideas on how to change my posture or something so that it doesn't hurt as much!? It makes reading for extended periods of time really difficult, especially with all of the reading I have to do!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

Have something to prop your head, such as a pillow or something of the sort!. Try to place the support so that you aren't using any neck muscles!. What I like to do is curl up my legs while leaning against a soft surface (like a sofa)!. For some reason, my back and neck doesn't ache when I do that!.

Another thing I would recommend is lying down while reading!. This may sound kind of stupid, but if your neck and back is hurting really bad, this is what I would recommend!. Hold the book up above you or prop it against some surface!. Just reach over to flip the pages!.

If the problem persists, I advise you to consult a chiropractic!. You may have some minor spinal problems that are causing your sore neck and back!. Do you get a lot of headaches!? There's a specific problem with the neck and spine associated with headaches!. Anyways, do lots of stretching at intervals while you are reading to help relieve the stiffness and soreness!.

Hope that helped! =)Www@Answer-Health@Com
