Generally speaking, if you can't move your fingers - slowly will do- something is broken!. I would suggest you put a cold compress on it, keep it immobile and go see a doctor to be sure!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

If it were broken most likely you wouldn't be able to move a finger and the whole hand would be very swollen, and for sure you would be in tears from the pain!.

Just keep an eye on it, ask for help if it starts getting swollen, or if it starts getting numb or white (white and numbness are signs of lack of blood circulation)!.

It's also possible to have a tiny hair-line fracture so it wouldn't be a bad idea to have it seen by a doctor if you are too worried; but by now let the hand rest as much as possible!.

And make peace with the wood!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

Well first of all try to move your fingers or wrist,if you feel something like a sharp pain its probaly broken but if it feels like a numb hot pain its probally just bruised!.
You can temporarily stop/numb the pain with advil or tylenol!.
Another thing you could also put ice in a ziplock bag cover it with a thin cloth and place it on your hand long enough to numb your hand but not to burn yourself!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

it will get swollen in a while if it's fractured otherwise it's just a bruise!. Get some ice on it if no bruising occurs!. If pain continues, go to the ER!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

Put ice on it -20 minutes per hour for the night and see if it is better in the am!. If not call your doctor and have somone drive you to get an xray!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

its broken! go to an emergency room!Www@Answer-Health@Com
