How old do you have to be for sleep aids?!

So I'm 14 will be 15 on X-mas day!. I'm going into high school and not being able to sleep will not be good especially since all my classes are Pre- AP!. I'm a verry smart person but have been slipping in middle school because of my lack of sleep!. Usually i get between 3 and 5 hours of sleep!. In Middle school it was ok but now is were it counts!.
