The above people are correct!. Never chew or crush and XR/ER medicine!. It is extended released, once its in the liver, it releases medicine at certain times per day!.
You never really want to chew any medicine unless your doctor tells you!. A hand full of meds are made in a chewable form, normally for kids!. Chewing regular meds can dramtically effect the results of the med and leave a very bitter taste!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

Medications with extended release are designed to be bio available for a long time, not a good idea to crush and chew, unless a patient is not able to swallow the pill at all in which event speak with your doctor for checking alternatives so that, peak levels, clearance and bio availability of the medication is thoroughly studied!.Www@Answer-Health@Com
If ANY medication has xr on it, that means its extended release!. It is supposed to be swallowed so it will get into your blood stream slowly!.

DO NOT CRUSH THIS!!!! The XR means "extended release" !. This means it's meant to be absorbed SLOWLY into your system!. That drug is basically cocaine with a PG rating!. Crush it and it could lead to an overdose, actually!.Www@Answer-Health@Com
