Care of knee that's stiff after injury?!
Question: Care of knee that's stiff after injury!?
I hurt my knee in May when I fell off a horse!. I fell right on it, knee and it was x-rayed and CAT scanned and no one found anything wrong with it!. A physical therapy assistant also checked it out and she said nothing was torn or damanged!. At the time, it was VERY bruised and the skin was all rubbed off, and I had to walk with crutches for a few days because I couldn't put any weight on it at all!.
Now, months later, it is very stiff when I get up from sitting for 20+ minutes!. It also feels like it has a bandage wrapped around it - that is the best way I can describe the feeling!. When I asked the doctor about it, they told me it was fine (since nothing showed up on the x-rays)!.
It's NOT fine though, as it gets stiff really easily and (to me) looks different from my other knee!. The dr!. was NO help!. :P
My question is, is there anything I can do to help the stiffness!? I don't want to take ibuprofen for the rest of my life!. Massage, elevation, ice, etc!? What will help!?Www@Answer-Health@Com

I've had the same kind of thing happen to me!. I can tell u that I still get stiff with my knee!. I would recommend going to another Dr!. and try light stretching excrises with the leg to bring all those muscles back to where they should be!. I would also ask your Dr to order you another MRI to see if there is damage or not in the leg!.Www@Answer-Health@Com
