Should he see a pulmonologist?!

Question: Should he see a pulmonologist!?
I want my husband to get the following done and I'm wondering if a pulmonologist can do it all, or if I will have to make him an appointment at our clinic as well!.
- get a perscription for something to help him quit smoking
- get an x-ray of his lungs (he smokes 2 packs a day and has a really strong family cancer history)
- Find out if his constant stuffy/runny nose is connected to the smoking habit

What do you all think!? Where should I start!?Www@Answer-Health@Com

Answers:
Start with your primary care physician!. They can do a lot of the diagnosis and care and determine if a specialist is needed!. Since the symptoms you have described are that serious, I think he would get referred to get lung function tests done!.
As an ex smoker, there is probably nothing harder to do than quit and nothing more important!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

You should back off and let him do it!. You can't control him and if you try he'll resent it and cling to his destructive life style!. If you aren't ready for a confrontation that ends with you leaving then leave it alone!. Get life insurance to make sure you are financially protected when he does get cancer and dies!.
I'm sorry this sounds harsh but you can't control other people you can only take care of yourself!.
You can tell him you love him and don't want to lose him like he has other family members but if he doesn't want to quit or go to the doctor then nothing you can do will change that!.
Yes the stuffy runny nose can be connected to his smoking!. The damage may already have been done!.
Your only alternative is to tell him to go to the doc or you will leave!. BUT you must be ready to follow through!.
Good luck!.Www@Answer-Health@Com
