Here is arachnoboard's bite report of Chilean roses!.
http://www!.arachnoboards!.com/ab/showthre!.!.!.

Reaction can depend on a lot of factors, such as amount of venom injected (a lot of the bites are "dry" bites, meaning they gave no venom), and personal sensitivity to the venom!. I have heard from specialists that tarantula venom cannot cause an allergic reaction like bee and wasp stings can because tarantula venom is made of basic peptides instead of proteins!.

What you probably will have to worry about more is the tarantula's urticating hairs!. Those are specialized hairs that new world (from the Americas) tarantulas have that they can kick off!. Like with the venom, some people are more sensitive to them than others!. These hairs can cause rashes, and could do damage if they get in the eyes or nose!.Www@Answer-Health@Com
