My three year old fell earlier today and now he threw up and fell asleep?!

Question: My three year old fell earlier today and now he threw up and fell asleep!?
Okay, around noon today my almost 3 year old was playing at the mall and fell to the ground, from about three feet, he fell on his head, and bent his neck!. I was concerned, but he seemed fine!. At the time, he said his lower stomach/ bottom hurt!. But he got over it within minutes and was acting perfectly normal all day!. At about 6:30 - right before supper, he started crying, saying his stomach/ bottom hurt and then he threw up not long after that and promptly fell asleep!.

I called the nurse line - she went through the spiel about head injuries, waking him up every 4 hours, etc!. and I'm definitely looking out for that, but I am still concerned because he was complaining about his stomach/ bottom both times!. What do you think!? The nurse didn't seem to concerned about that, so I decided not to bring him to the ER, but I'm open to second opinions!.

(BTW - we have had a nasty cold here the last week, so it's also possible that developed into a stomach bug and the two are not related)Www@Answer-Health@Com

Answers:
Monitor his sleeping habits very carefully!. Not every 4 hours but every 20 minutes or so!. I believe that if you saw him fall on his head and bent his neck then it's best to take him in to see a Doctor!. Ask him how he feels as often as you can and if the answer is consistant then you should probably take him to a Doctor!. In the meantime monitor his breathing while he sleeps at least every 20 minutes and everytime he wakes up, ask him how he feels!. Get on bended knees and ask the Great Physician for His guidance and I'll ask Him to look after you and your young and loved one!. God bless you and your child!. It'll be okay, just wait and see, he's gonna be stronger and sharper than ever!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

My daughter hit her head pretty hard, we watched her through-out the night, was fine the next day!. But she did not throw up!. That's points to a concussion if its not a stomach ache!. I would call the nurse line again if you are still worried about it, and tell her u think it is a concussion, see what she says again!. Kids r designed to get hurt, but take him in if u r worried at all!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

I would just like to say that a concussion can be associated with throwing up, what happens when you get a concussion you get dizzy, and therefore can throw up!. I agree with most for peace of mind take him him and have everything checked out, even if it is a stomach bug you need to know so that you know not to have him eating such solid foods!. Good luckWww@Answer-Health@Com

Take him to ER and have him checked out just to be sure that he doesn't have a concussion!. Some head injuries can cause you to have a stomach ache and make you throw up!. Better be safe then sorry later!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

i can tell you from the first line that it's concussion!. he fell asleep!? i would be down the ER now!.

hes goin to die sorryWww@Answer-Health@Com

I have 4 little boys and have been thru a lot with those little guys!. Stomach pain would NOT be triggered by a fall!. If he were to have a concussion or something like that, he would have just felt the nausea and started vomiting!. Since he felt a stomach ache (lower part) I would say that he has a stomach virus or ate something that is causing him to be sick!. Sometimes summer fruit or pool water can cause digestive problems not to mention bacteria!. He will probably get diarrhea as well, but I don't believe you have to worry about his head--seems like one of those nasty coinsidences!. Good luck!Www@Answer-Health@Com
