They legally cannot turn you away!. But they can just stabilize you and tell you to leave!. And if you don't have insurance; they don't have to do the expensive testing (MRI, etc)!. But; don't go unless you are deathly ill!. Too many people use the ER as their general doctor b/c they dont' have insurance!. All that does is cost the tax payers millions and millions each year!. Call and doctor and see if you can make payments of $25/month to see a family doctor!. I had to do that when I didn't have insurance!. Be responsible and don't abuse the ER!. It's there for TRUE emergencies; nothing else!.Www@Answer-Health@Com
Agreed, if you are about to die, they will not turn you away!. However, if you are in a lot of pain, but you aren't in danger of dying, they can in fact turn you away (private hospital) , or basically have you sit in their waiting room for so long that you just leave!. (Public hospital)
That happened to me once ages ago, I had the flu really bad and was coughing and I couldn't breathe, my friend took me to the ER, but I didn't have health insurance, the first thing they asked me was how was I going to pay!. I told them I would charge it!. They checked my pulse, and then had me sit down in the waiting room!. After 4 hours I felt better and could breath normally (thanks to a bunch of cold medicine I had bought from the store) and I went home!. They made me sign a form saying that if I died no one could sue them!. They basically refused to service me, by making me wait in an empty waiting room for four hours!. People were coming in after me and because they were insured they were treated!.

no!.!.there not allowed to!.!.Is this due to no insurance!? if so its better to be a emergency and then fill out the paper work and they most likely will write it of if you are not making alot of money!.!.my friend just had tents put in his heart and he had no insurance!.!.its a 25 thousand dollar surgery and they wrote his off!.Www@Answer-Health@Com
An ER if it is truly an emergency cannot turn you away!. If you dont have insurance and they are a profit making hospital, they can stabilize you and send you to a non profit hospital!.Www@Answer-Health@Com
