Well this certainly sounds familiar being the mother of 4 living children!. All now grown!.
Hon, as hard as it seems you are going to have to reverse this sleeping pattern around!. In order to learn the things you need to learn in school you have to have a fresh mind!. You really need to visit your Dr!. now to get help in time for the school season!.
He can offer you suggestions on what to do, like going to bed every night at the exact same time, even if you don't sleep!. Check you for Delayed sleep-phase syndrome or someother type of sleep disorder that you are unaware of having!.
Then it could be just a bad habit you have picked up over the summer!.!.
If it's bad enough you might have to have some type of sleep aid to help!.
Just make sure your Dr!. gives this to you, wether it's over the counter or by prescription only!. He knows best what you might be able to take or not take!.
If you can't go to the Dr!. or chose not to, try reading a few good books!.
To be successful in life even if you are a homemaker, mother, or head of a large corporation, you need to be an early riser!.
Sleeping modes really are more of a habit than they are anything else!. Some of us are more inclined to accept it as "it's just the way I am"!.
At thirteen you are becoming more responsible for your own actions!. This is a good place to start!.
First thing you have to do is "stop sleeping in so late"!.
Bet you thought I was going to say "go to bed sooner!."
Make yourself get up earlier!. Have a friend call you, use an alarm clock!. anything that will cut your hours of sleep so you will be more apt to fall asleep faster the next time you go to bed!.
Keep doing this over the next few weeks until you have your hours switched close to what you will be needing for school!.
Exercise will also make you more tired so you can go to bed sooner!.

Don't assume that you need the same amount of sleep every night!. This will vary for the rest of your life!. Some days you will need only 6 and a half hours while the next day you may need 8!. Six hours of sleep is really not enough for someone still growing!. Alway try to get at least 7!.
Eight hours of sleep is enough for anyone!. More than 8 hours will have tendency to make you want more sleep than you really need!.
I go to bed when I
