What can I do to relieve calf strain pain!

Question: What can I do to relieve calf strain pain
I have a calf strain that is causing me to have extreme heel pain!. I know for sure that is whats wrong becuase I went to a doctor and then physical therapist but I just lost my medical insurance for a month!. Since I have no insurance I can not get anymore medical care or PT!. The PT was doing ultrasound, massage therapy, stretches and bike riding!. I do have a bike to continue doing and I cna do the stretches at home!. What could I do to replace the ultrasound and massage!? It will be september 1 before I can go back to PT or get any advice from them!. Does anyone have any suggestion on what I should do!.

Thanks for any help you can provide!. (I can not get any goverment assistance or low income doctors)Www@Answer-Health@Com

Answers:
The ultrasound is useless beyond what a hot pack will do!. Massage is not necessary after the first week or so!. Exercise is the only thing that has been shown to have any long term benefit!. Keep doing what you are doing!.!.!.don't worry about the ultrasound!. Www@Answer-Health@Com

Your best and cheapest thing to do is go out and buy yourself a bottel of Absorbine JR and apply it to your calf a few times a day!. It does'nt smell the best but you will notice a vast improvement right after you start useing it!.
You can find it in any Drug store and most grocerie stores!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

are you a girl!? if you are wearing high heels will take the pressure off your calf might not feel so good on your heel but it will help you get around!.!.!.also ice worksWww@Answer-Health@Com

what you can do is put one leg out in front and put pressure on it while leaning forward (lean with the sprained leg)Www@Answer-Health@Com

The walking boot is temporary; not a cure!. You can continue the hot/cold packs, & massage your own foot!. Search all over your foot for the most tender spots & gently rub in circles over it!. Don't make it hurt too much when massaging!. Also check your ear on each side, way up forward where the edge 'rolls' over: pinch it & you'll probably find a tender spot!. You can pinch that spot, hold breath for 7 seconds & release!. Repeat twice!. You can do it twice a day!.

If self-treatment hasn't helped in 7 days, go to your City/County Health Department for help!. Ask a pharmacist about pain-killers!.

See if there's a massage school or physical therapy school nearby (they may help at little or no cost)!. Good luck! :)Www@Answer-Health@Com
