Do pharmacists feel bad for drug abusers?!
Question: Do pharmacists feel bad for drug abusers!?
What I mean is, when you catch someone with a fake prescription and it is obvious that they have aproblem do you get more excited to turn that person in, or feel bad that the person has an addiction and needs help!. I agree, that you would need to call the police regardless of how you feel, but do you, deep inside, hope that the person gets help and recovers!?Www@Answer-Health@Com

I am not associated with the medical industry at all!. But I am a long term pain management patient from a serious spinal injury and 7 failed spine fusions!.
It is my belief that most pharmacist can sniff out forged scripts!. Should they call the police well i think that they have a obligation to!. There are so many avenues for people who are addicted to drugs to go at no cost it is inexcusable but I also feel that the health care system may have some blame as well!. I have heard of people that were being treated for a ligament medical condition and for what ever reason losses his insurance and his medical care!. This person if taking the mesds as directed is most likely dependent on the drugs and when they can no longer get them crave them to help treat withdraw symptoms!. I do feel bad for this type of person but a person who is forging scripts going dr!. shopping to obtain controlled substances for street sale I have no compassion for!. This just gives those of us that legitimately need this type of treatment a bad name!. Sorry in advance if I hurt anyones feelings these are just my opinions!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

People who work in the medical and pharmaceutical business and see these things every day become desensitized!. I work in surgery and I see a lot!. If I let everything bother me my job would eat me up!. I have compassion yes, but I have to draw the line on how much I let myself feel!. I don't imagine it's much different for pharmacists!. They fill prescriptions knowing what medications are used for!. They see a lot of sick people!. Can't take it home with ya though!. Do I think they feel sorry for someone who is trying to fill a fake prescription!? I don't know!. I probably wouldn't!. With all the truly sick, dying people out there wishing they were healthy and didn't need the medication, it's kind of hard to feel sorry for addicts who are otherwise healthy but won't get themselves help!. Of course we want people to get help!. However, it can be scary and/or frustrating dealing with drug abusers!. They are demanding, intimidating, and often do things outside their normal character to procure drugs!.Www@Answer-Health@Com
