Question: How can i cure my bad posture
i think i have bad posture and i`m not sure what to do about it my mum says to stand up straight but after a while i forget to stay standing up straight and while any ideas how to help get it good!?Www@Answer-Health@Com

Hi!
Fixing your posture is one of the best things you can do for your over-all health-it's like fixing the foundation of a house so that it is structurally sound!.
Awareness is key so the very fact that you even remember to check in on your posture trains the body to go where you want it to go!.
That being said you want to make sure that you are putting it right properly and the reason it doesn't "stick" is because the muscles used to maintain the posture are weak and lack the endurance to hold you without tension!.
The very best solution would be Pilates!. I'm a Pilates instructor and here's what i reccomend:
Depending on your financial situation there are many opportunities:
Private instruction is the best -at least at first while you get the basics otherwise a small Mat class by a well qualified instructor is also very good!. Alternatively you can buy a video to do at home!. This is the least favourable option in the beginning - it would be like trying to learn a new language by yourself!.
This being said- it doesn't have to be complicated and it should be a fun and invigorating experience- check out online resources for Pilates- i don't know where you live so can't make specific reccomendations!.

If you're really serious about it, you could try the Alexander Technique!.

It's used by actors to improve their presence, but also widely accepted as a way of improving posture, particularly for people who have developed muscular-skeletal problems!.

Yes your mum is very right!.!.!.!.!.!.!.!.stand up straight, once you
put it into your head, do it everytime you think of it, so don't
slouch ! The other thing is , take note when seated, try
as much as possible to keep your back straight!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

well i would go and see a chiropacter but hey i got a bad back too its becuasethey way i sleep at night!. but i would recommend just sit up striaght, lay straight in the bed and keep the back straightWww@Answer-Health@Com

Invest in a gym or exercise ball!. Use it to sit on instead off a chair!. It forces you to sit straight and help your posture!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

I've had great results with compressive back supports to help provide better posture!. U can even wear them under your clothes!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

my friend had that problem n i told her 2 practise at nite with a book on ur head n walk around with it, it will keep reminding u 2 walk n stand straight just give it a go!! good luck!!Www@Answer-Health@Com
