Can't put any weight on my ankle?!


Question: Can't put any weight on my ankle!?
Yesterday i slipped down the stairs and sprained my ankle!. I went to the doctors and he strapped it up and said to try and walk it off!.
Today i can't put any weight at all on it and i can't move it very much!.
Is this a sprain or somthing more!?
Should try and walk it off still like the doctor said!?Www@Answer-Health@Com

Things like this normally are MORE sore the next day, than the day you actually had the accident, give it another day or so, and then see if you can put enough weight on it to walk, if you can't then you need to get you'rself back to the doctors!.!.!.!.if you're really worried and in pain though I'd see a doctor or visit you're local hospital a!.s!.a!.p!.

It is probably a sprain, so just follow the RICE method:

Rest
Ice
Compress
Elevate

Get crutches or something so you don't have to walk on your foot!. Rest it as much as possible!. Ice it as often as possible to help the swelling go down!. Compress it with some type of wrap or a splint which will also help the swelling go down and it will keep your ankle from twisting or turning so the ligaments can heal faster!. And elevate your foot!. When you sleep or are sitting, put your leg up so that it is at a level higher than your heart!. This will slow the blood flow to the area and will stop it from the inflammation!. Take Motrin, Tylenol, or Advil for pain-relief!. But the main thing is to rest it!. You don't want to re-injure it while it is already injured!. Let it heal completely before you try to do any type of strenuous activity, or even walk on it!.

If it is very bruised and hurts too much still after a couple more days, you may want to check with your doctor again to make sure it is not a broken ankle!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

The doctor knows best!. And I'm not just saying that!. If you don't continue to work your ankle, it will get more sore and potentially swollen!. You need to keep it moving to keep the blood flowing properly!. It will heal faster this way!. If it gets super swollen then prop it up and take a break!. Don't stand for too long!. If you do take a break afterwards and elevate the foot!. If you still think it looks swollen, then ice for 10-15 minutes a couple times for the next couple days!. Ice your ankle stay off it for a bit!. Is it swollen!. I can't believe a doctor would tell you to walk it off if it is sprained!. Maybe stay off it a few days!. If it isn't better you need to go back to a different doctor and have it looked at!.
