Scoliosis Revision Surgery ???!
Question: Scoliosis Revision Surgery !?!?!?
My Harrington rods are poking through the top!. It bothers my sometimes!. If i telll that to my doctor, will he suggest surgery to remove the tip of the rods!. Has anyone gone through this before!? and how was it!?Www@Answer-Health@Com

If the rods are pushing through then it will usually mean that the bone is forcing them up!. In most cases that will create a painful response and when the pain gets strong enough they will have to be removed!. Talk to the surgeon that did the procedure about what they think should be done!. Again in most cases the answer is going to depend on your level of pain!.Www@Answer-Health@Com
I have had patients that have lived years with the rods poking through the top!. It just depends on your level of pain and whether or not it is causing further damage to your spine and of course your age!.
If it is bothering you, then most likely surgery will be recommended!.
